In any discipline the “fundamentals” make the difference.  When you have mastered the fundamentals, then dancing becomes effortless and fun for you and your partner.  How many classes are needed to become an intermediate dance student?  There is no general answer to this question. It depends on many factors that include: dance background and experience, time dedicated to practice and review, and individual characteristics. It is very important that your instructor agrees with you when to attend a certain level of class.

Please have confidence and respect for your instructor’s knowledge and experience as to what level is appropriate for you. If you feel that the class you are attending is not helping you to improve your dance, please share this feeling with your instructor. Private classes are a good alternative.

BEGINNER: In this class the students acquire all necessary elements to get started on the right foot as social dancers. Introduction of lead and follow concept, connection with the partner and the floor, understanding of music, basics of social etiquette and navigation in the context of Argentine Tango.
FUNDAMENTALS & TECHNIQUE: Tango is a dance performed in constantly changing conditions -- the music, the partners, the situation on the floor, the mood... Being able to improvise in the moment requires solid technique and fundamentals incorporated in a dancer's body. In this class students work on all foundation elements for the great dancing: posture, embrace, walk, balance, musicality, body mechanics for elegant, effortless movement in cooperation with the partner.
INTERMEDIATE: For students who can lead and follow comfortably in the embrace, circulate around the floor on the line of dance, make turns, pauses and other necessary maneuvers, and are familiar with tango music. This class dedicates more detailed attention to all the elements, in order to take your dancing to the next level.
ADVANCED: Advanced is anyone who understands the fundamentals of the dance.
ETIQUETTE: Acting as an adequate member of the tango community is more important for a social dancer's success than knowing fancy steps. Learn how specific rules of etiquette work for milonga participants, so everyone can have the best time dancing in a safe, pleasant environment.
MUSICALITY: Argentine tango is based on musical improvisation. Therefore musicality is a very important aspect of the dance. In this class, through simple yet effective exercises and drills, the students achieve better understanding of tango music. Use the music to move elegantly, in deeper connection with the partner, to create unforgettable dancing experience. Let the music enter your body and make it dance.
ALL LEVELS: In a mixed proficiency class beginning students benefit from working with more advanced partners, and advanced students get to test and polish their technique by leading or following less experienced partners. Everybody's dancing improves significantly as a result. A great opportunity to build necessary skills and confidence for more and better dancing in milongas.
LATIN RHYTHMS: For those who want to experience Salsa and any Latin Dance. Learn how to move your body, hips, and feet. We will cover techniques for posture and smooth movement. Detailed instruction will allow you to lead or follow to any type of Latin rhythm. Great tips and lots of fun.
